Simple Daily Practice
My daily health practice is to challenge my body through strength training and metabolic conditioning. Some days that means a full workout; other days it is barbell club with my kids or a run on the beach while we are on vacation. Staying active gives me energy, helps me sleep well, and supports the strength and resilience I want to maintain as I age.
I often bring my children along because it gives us time together and allows me to model something I hope they carry throughout their lives: taking care of your health does not have to be rigid or extreme. It can simply become part of who you are.
Bio
Israel Wootton, MD is the Founder and President of CodeMD, where he guides the company’s medical vision, product philosophy, and commitment to physician-directed wellness.
A board-certified emergency medicine physician, Israel has spent his career caring for people during some of their most critical moments. That experience shaped his belief that well-being is built much earlier—through the consistent foundations of moving well, eating well, sleeping well, and supplementing well.
Israel earned his medical degree from the Florida State University College of Medicine and completed his emergency medicine residency at Louisiana State University and Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, a Level I trauma center. Through CodeMD, he brings medical judgment to everyday wellness with a clear purpose: to make better health feel simpler, more credible, and more attainable.
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Lauren Wootton
Lauren Wootton is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CodeMD, where she leads brand strategy, product commercialization, partnerships, marketing and the development of a wellness company built to make physician-guided thinking more accessible in everyday life. She co-founded CodeMD with her husband, emergency physician Israel Wootton, MD, bringing together his clinical perspective with her experience building brands, businesses and communications strategies.
Before CodeMD, Wootton built a career at the intersection of storytelling, strategy and entrepreneurship. Mentored early in her career by Disney Legend Ron Logan, founder of Disney on Broadway, she developed an appreciation for the ability of meaningful storytelling to change how people understand and connect with an idea. She later served as Director of Cultural Innovation for the State of Amazonas in Brazil before founding ADELE, a marketing and communications firm whose healthcare work has included physician-owned clinics, private medical practices, healthcare organizations and wellness brands.
At CodeMD, Wootton applies that background to a different kind of storytelling: helping consumers understand the thinking, evidence and people behind the products they use. She leads the company's consumer experience and growth strategy while working alongside physicians, pharmacists, researchers, manufacturers and other specialists to build a brand designed around transparency, thoughtful formulation and long-term trust.
Lauren's Daily Practice
I love going to the gym with my family. It gives me a chance to challenge myself, compete against my own goals, and keep getting stronger, while also spending time with my husband and kids. It’s one of the few parts of the day where we can all be together and focused on something healthy.
I also love taking a walk with a podcast after work. It gives me space to mentally reset, think, and have a little time to myself. I usually finish with a short 100-meter sprint. I’ve read a lot about the benefits of sprint training for women, including healthy aging, brain health, cardiovascular health, and overall strength. I personally don’t enjoy running but a few-second sprint I can handle.
And after the gym, one of my favorite things is cooking with my husband. My work is so focused on leading teams that cooking lets me use a completely different part of my brain. It helps me switch gears, be present, connect, and ease naturally into the evening.
Vice President, Strategic Communications
Valerie Wickboldt
Valerie Wickboldt is a senior communications, brand and public-affairs strategist with nearly two decades of experience helping healthcare organizations, businesses and public institutions communicate through periods of growth, change and high public visibility. Her career has spanned executive communications, marketing, community engagement, public affairs and reputation strategy across both the private and public sectors. She has led cross-functional communications teams through major healthcare initiatives, including helping execute the statewide launch of a healthcare brand encompassing hundreds of care sites and thousands of physicians and colleagues across Florida.
At CodeMD, Wickboldt helps guide how medical, scientific and wellness information becomes clear, responsible and useful communication for consumers and partners. As Vice President of Strategic Communications, she advises the company on major brand initiatives, healthcare messaging, reputation and stakeholder engagement, helping ensure that CodeMD grows with the same care in how it communicates as it brings to what it develops.
A Florida State University graduate, Wickboldt is a lifetime member of Leadership Florida and has been recognized among Florida's leading emerging communications and public-affairs professionals. She also serves in civic and nonprofit leadership roles focused on strengthening the communities where she lives and works.
Vice President, Culture & Consumer Experience
Casey Geiger, MD
Matthew “Casey” Geiger, MD, is an emergency medicine physician whose clinical career has been shaped by caring for people when health suddenly becomes their highest priority. Dr. Geiger earned his undergraduate degree from Arizona State University and his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine before completing residency training at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He has practiced emergency medicine at Archbold Memorial since 2020.
At CodeMD, Dr. Geiger brings that frontline physician perspective to culture and consumer experience. He helps the team think beyond what belongs in a wellness product to how people will actually experience it, from taste, convenience and daily routines to the simple question of whether a product makes healthy choices easier to maintain. Just as importantly, he helps CodeMD preserve a culture that is energetic, approachable and human as the company grows.
Vice President, Formulation & Quality
James Holland III, PharmD, BCPS
James Holland III, PharmD, BCPS, is a clinical pharmacist and Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist whose work bridges pharmacology, patient care and medication quality. He completed his pharmacy training at Auburn University's Harrison College of Pharmacy and practices within the hospital setting at Archbold Medical Center, with experience supporting acute-care clinical pharmacy and multidisciplinary patient care.
As Vice President of Formulation & Quality for CodeMD, Dr. Holland brings a pharmacist's perspective to ingredient selection, dosing, formulation design and quality review. He helps evaluate proposed formulas for factors including ingredient forms, meaningful dosing, potential interactions, formulation coherence and finished-product standards, providing an additional layer of professional review as CodeMD products move from concept toward commercialization.
His role reflects a core principle behind CodeMD's approach to product development: a long ingredient list alone does not make a thoughtful formula. Ingredients, forms and doses should work together with purpose, and the finished product should be held to clearly defined quality standards.
Vice President, Research & Scientific Affairs
Robby Amin, MD
Robby Amin, MD, is a physician, researcher and rural-health advocate whose work has focused on translating medical evidence into better health outcomes for underserved communities. A graduate of the University of Michigan, where he studied biology and sociology with a concentration in health and aging, Dr. Amin earned his medical degree from Avalon University School of Medicine and has continued his clinical training in internal medicine. His work has placed particular emphasis on prevention, cancer screening, healthcare access and the challenges facing rural communities.
Dr. Amin has served as a clinical liaison for Georgia's CDC-funded colorectal cancer control efforts, contributed to American Cancer Society cancer-screening resources, participated as an expert in federal initiatives addressing cancer prevention and health equity, and contributed to research presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology. His published work has examined disparities in colorectal cancer screening across Federally Qualified Health Centers and the implementation of evidence-based interventions in underserved populations.
As Vice President of Research & Scientific Affairs for CodeMD, Dr. Amin helps evaluate emerging research, scientific rationale and the evidence supporting product concepts and health claims. His combination of clinical medicine, scientific collaboration and population-health experience helps CodeMD ask an essential question throughout product development: What does the evidence actually support?
