How We Formulate

Built from evidence. Designed for real life.

Doctor-owned and doctor-developed
Third-party tested
Manufactured in an NSF-certified GMP facility.

Formulating with Purpose.

At CodeMD, formulation begins with a defined purpose: what should this product help support, and what would make it genuinely useful in everyday life? From there, we evaluate ingredients, doses, delivery formats, and manufacturing considerations as parts of one complete formula — not as isolated decisions.

Our Evidence Standard
Formulating with Purpose.

We start with an intended use.

Every formula begins with a clear role.

Before selecting ingredients, we define what the product is intended to support, who it is designed for, and how it should fit into a person's routine.

That keeps the formula focused and helps prevent adding ingredients simply because they are popular or marketable.

We start with an intended use.

Ingredients & Delivery

We select ingredients for a reason

Ingredients are chosen based on the role they can play within the complete formula.

We consider the scientific evidence, ingredient form, dose, compatibility with other ingredients, safety, and whether the ingredient meaningfully contributes to the product's intended purpose.

We consider the whole formula

A strong ingredient on its own does not automatically create a strong product.

We evaluate how ingredients work together, whether their doses make sense in combination, and whether unnecessary duplication or complexity can be avoided.

The goal is a formula that is purposeful, balanced, and understandable.

We consider the best delivery system for quality

Powder, capsule, gummy, packet, and other formats each create different opportunities and limitations.

We consider factors such as dose capacity, stability, taste & texture, ease of use, ingredient compatibility, portability and manufacturing feasibility.

The delivery system should serve the formula — not force the formula into compromises simply because a format is fashionable.

Quality & practicality have to coexist.

A formula still has to be manufacturable, stable, consistent, and pleasant enough for people to actually use.

We work with manufacturing partners to evaluate ingredient sourcing, production requirements, testing, stability, sensory experience, and other practical considerations before a product reaches the market.

Refining before release.Refining before release.

Refining before release.

Formulation is iterative. A product may go through multiple rounds of ingredient review, dosing decisions, flavor or format adjustments, manufacturing feedback, and testing before the final formula is approved. We would rather refine a product than release one simply to meet a calendar.

FORMULATION THROUGH A

Physician’s Lens

“The question isn't how many ingredients we can fit into a product. It's whether each ingredient has a clear reason to be there, whether the dose makes sense, and whether the finished formula is something we would actually feel good recommending to someone we care about.”

Evidence is the beginning, not the finished product.

Our Evidence Standard explains how we evaluate research. How We Formulate explains what happens next — how that evidence is translated into a practical, complete product designed for everyday use.
